Regular events

There are numerous events that take place at the Church and in its halls during the course of each year to which all are welcome.  The following gives a flavour of some of the regular events:

Easter

Easter is an important time in the Christian calendar.  On Good Friday, we generally join other local churches in a ‘Walk of Witness’ and Easter Day is celebrated by the congregation by decorating a cross in flowers.

Drama

College Park Players put on a play in April each year and a pantomime or festive play in early December – see College Park Players for further details.  Burnt Ash Singers (and, previously, Theatre Productions) also put on two musical productions each year.  Proceeds are in aid of various charities and/or the church.

Fund raising events

The hall is regularly used for fund raising events, such as the Old Fashioned Afternoon Teas that have been held to raise funds for Mission in Britain.

Spring Fayre

This takes place each year in early May as part of the church’s fund raising activities.

Church Outing

The church normally has an outing each September to a place of interest.  Visits have included Hever Castle, Scotney Castle and Ightham Mote.  We have travelled on the Kent & East Sussex Railway from Tenterden to Bodiam Castle and visited Dover Castle for a display of ‘Falconry of the Victorian Age’.

Harvest Festival

The Harvest Festival in October is celebrated by decorating the church followed by a Harvest tea with sandwiches and cake.

Christmas Market

In November, we have a Christmas Market at which one of the many highlights is the visit by Father Christmas.

Christmas

Christmas is, of course, another time of celebration and this is done in style at Burnt Ash with a candlelit carol service on the Sunday before Christmas and a family nativity celebration on Christmas Eve.  On Christmas Day, the children have  a chance to show off their presents to the congregation.
